It’s 1972 and Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau plans to decriminalize marijuana, while opposing political groups want to maintain status quo by proving the damaging impact of pot.
Craig Pryce’s The Marijuana Conspiracy tells the little-known true story of a group of young women who volunteer to take part in a 98-day study, during which time, they smoke dope twice each evening, while living within a controlled facility under constant observation by a group of psychologists and medical staff. The freak-outs and the friendships that develop are a testament to the young women, who despite the pressures of confinement, the increasingly higher doses of THC, and the relentless scrutiny, are resilient and determined.
